A Little More:

Before his fellowship, Dr. Winterfield was granted a Leave of Absence, Berry Plan internist for the United States military. The Berry Plan was a Vietnam War-era program that enabled physicians to defer obligatory military service until completing medical school and residency training.  Today he enjoys tennis, skiing, occasional golf, attending the Chicago Symphony and spending time with his six grandchildren.

Prior to becoming the Managing Partner of the Practice, Dr. Teplitz earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and then attended the University of Illinois, Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine in Chicago Illinois where he Graduated with Honors in 1981. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Teplitz gained further education and training through an Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at University of Illinois Hospital from 1981-1984 and a Fellowship in Cardiology at Loyola University Medical Center from 1985-1987. Dr. Teplitz’s certifications include: National Board of Medical Examiners, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine – Cardiovascular Disease, and the American Board of Nuclear Cardiology. He is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the Chicago Medical Society, the Illinois State Medical Society and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Teplitz is on staff at Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights, Illinois as an Attending Cardiologist and a Director in the Coronary Care Unit. He is also an Attending Cardiologist at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois.

Tarek Ahdab, MD

The most rewarding and humbling aspect of caring for a patient after providing him or her with best quality care,  is to see that patient returning to the office to shake your hand or even give you a hug and thank you for helping them getting back to their normal functioning role.

Dr. Ahdab began his professional career as an interventional Cardiologist at Chicago Cardiology Institute in Schaumburg, IL and transitioned to the Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists in Oak Brook Terrace, where he served as an Interventional Cardiology and Endovascular Intervention Specialist.  Currently, he enjoys playing chess, swimming, biking traveling, and raising his two daughters along with his Chicago-born wife.
